N.W.A.
N.W.A. was formed in the late 80's by Eazy-E. The group would go on to be one of the most notorious rap groups in history. Their song titled "F*ck tha Police" begins with the group putting the LAPD on a mock trial. The LAPD has a history of racially motivated violence, which the song references throughout. This song was incredibly controversial when it was released, even catching the attention of the FBI for promoting violence against law enforcement. The legacy of this song lives on, as it was heard blasting at many of the Black Lives Matter protests in summer of 2020 (Krautz).
